The
Western Wisconsin IBEW / NECA Joint Apprenticeship & Training Trust
is a Joint endeavor between International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers Local Union 14 and the Wisconsin Chapter, National Electrical
Contractors Association / La Crosse-Indianhead Divisions. The trust fund
has been established to advance Apprenticeship and Training in the
Electrical Construction Industry, by promoting Journeyman education
programs and by working closely with established apprenticeship
programs.
The
Western Wisconsin Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee, by
agreement, has oversight advisory authority of all Electrical
Apprenticeship programs within Local 14 jurisdiction. The WW JATC
administers to the Eau Claire Area Electrical JAC, La Crosse Area
Electrical JAC, Western Wisconsin Residential JAC and the Western
Wisconsin Voice Data Video JAC. Working closely with the Wisconsin
Bureau of Apprenticeship Standards and the Wisconsin Technical Colleges
the Committee strives to create consistency of training, continuity of
employment and adequate training facilities. All Committees are
representative of Labor’s and Management’s commitment to provide
today's workforce with the most highly trained Electricians and
Technicians in the Industry.

TO APPLY

Applications
for the Electrical (Construction) Apprenticeship Program are
accepted year-round, from 8:00a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each workday.
All
applications must be completed and all listed information must
be received by the established cut-off date to be considered
for the next interview session.

APPLICANTS MUST APPEAR IN
PERSON TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION FORM. All applications will
be received and considered without regard to race, color,
religion, sex, or national origin. Applicants
are required to notify the Application Site of any changes in
Address.

Each
Applicant who meets all basic requirements will be interviewed by
an Interview Committee.
The interviewers will consider: reliability, interest, attitude,
judgment, cooperation, as well as other personal traits.
Applicants will be selected for the available apprentice vacancies
in the order of ranking resulting from rating of interviews.
It is the intent of this Committee, in perpetuation of the basic
skills required in the construction industry, to comply with all
Federal and State Standards required in the selection and
placement of apprentice applicants. The recruitment, selection,
employment, and training of apprentices during their
apprenticeship, shall be without discrimination because of race,
color, religion, national origin, sex, creed, handicap, marital
status, ancestry, sexual orientation, arrest record, conviction
record, or membership in the military forces of the United States
or this State. The sponsor will take affirmative action to provide
equal opportunity in apprenticeship and will operate the
apprenticeship program as required under Title 29 of the Code of
Federal Regulations, Part 30, and all other applicable state laws.

BASIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY
FOR AN INTERVIEW:
1.
AGE: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age before the Time
of Assignment for an Apprenticeship and Furnish Proof of Age.
(To Qualify: Copy of Birth Certificate or Valid Drivers License
Required)
2.
EDUCATION: Must be a High School Graduate or have attained a
General Equivalency Diploma before the Time of Assignment for an
Apprenticeship.
(To Qualify: Copy of Transcripts and Certificate Required)
3.
MINIMUM MATH: Must have completed one (1) full year of high
school Algebra with a passing grade of "C", or one (1) post
high school Algebra course with a passing grade of "C".
Successful completion of Interactive ModuMath Algebra, available
at the WI Technical Colleges, is also an equivalent to the minimum math
requirement.
4. APTITUDE TEST: Must
attain established norms on the NJATC Apprentice Selection Test Battery.
(Developed and validated by the American Institutes for Research.)
Arrangements for testing are made by the Committee.
5.
PHYSICAL ABILITY: Must present or sign a statement that he or she
is physically able to perform electrical construction work. Applicants
who reach employable status must successfully pass a drug screen test
before placement in the field.
6.
TRANSCRIPTS: Must provide official transcript's of High School
and (if minimum math requirements listed elsewhere) post High School
transcript showing courses and grades attained.
Transcript
must indicate Algebra or list classes that are equivalent to one full
year of High School Algebra. You
must provide a letter from the school confirming the class is an
equivalent to the minimum Math requirement.
7.
DRIVERS LICENSE: Must have the ability to get to
school and work on a timely and consistent basis, anywhere within the
committee's jurisdiction.
The
following may be submitted as additional evidence of qualifications and
will be considered, but are not required:
Additional Transcripts beyond High School
Certificates of any additional training
Letters of recommendation or resumes
